Refresh needed nearly 80% of the time

When clicking different links in the forums i need to hit refresh in order to get the page to actually load. This is needed just about ever other time.

sometimes I have to close out and visit the site all over again for it to work. This also happens when trying to reply and edit posts.

*EDIT*
This was moved to the network forum since this problem does not occur from my work place. both places I am using vista with firefox 3.5.3. The difference seems to be the DNS servers and ISP. But someone stated below that they have the same issue with different DNS servers.

Huh, I thought this was just my connection. This has been happening at least a couple of weeks for me. It's really annoying. I'd estimate 3-4 out of 5 page loads require me to refresh to get the page to show up.

I have comcast cable internet, using Firefox 3.5.3 in MN. I'll keep an eye on it at work here and see if it acts differently.

At work FF 3.5.2 seems fine. I just updated to 3.5.3.

Been bad for me all day especially early in the day. frequently I couldn't get pages to load at all and it was particularly difficult to post. Still having to refresh frequently now.
(It's taken me multiple tries to post this)

I should also mention I have my home router setup to use OpenDNS. Maybe I'll switch that since this seems to be an issue with my ISP connection...

Should this thread be moved to the networking forum since it doesn't seem to be the AT site at fault?

I'm not using opendns and I'm still having these issues.

Do you use comcast as your ISP?

No. Gci

how is your network configured? modem -> router -> wired computer? do all computers on your network exhibit this behavior or just the one? have you ran full adware/malware/virus scans?

try connecting your computer directly to the modem and test web access. as for DNS, try 4.2.2.2 instead of your current OpenDNS servers.

Ran a scan and found nothing. Tried 4.2.2.1 .2 and .3 with the same issue. (those are verizon servers right?) i have a home router but haven't checked this on my laptop.

im having this issue as well. i have a desktop with windows 7 pro giving me this issue (pretty fresh install, say, a week old or so) using firefox 3.5.3
edit: opera 10 and IE 8 do not have this issue, i changed my DNS to 4.2.2.2 in my router, did ipconfig /flushdns (now, obviously, this isnt the problem)

my netbook with xp does not have this problem using firefox 3.5.2

since IE 8 and opera 10 work fine, but firefox 3.5.3 doesnt im wondering if its either firefox or if I have an add-on that could cause this problem....thing is, anandtech.com is the only domain having this issue...and only in firefox.

i have firefox 3.0.x on a flash drive using portable apps and it hasnt had this issue anywhere i have used it (work and school in the last week)

here is my add-on list, anyone with this problem wanna check theirs and see what we have in common? i dont feel like tinkering with all 15 right now:

avg safe search 9.0.0.696
downthemall! 1.1.6
febe 6.3
find in tabs 0.4.0.6
gmail notifier 0.6.4.1
linkification 1.3.6
MS .net framework assistant 1.1
noscript 1.9.9.11
skype extension 2.2.0.102
tab history 1.0.6
user agent switcher 0.7.2
vmware remote console plug in 2.5.0.122581
xmarks 3.3.2
youtube video downloader 0.3.1

I'm willing to bet its an add-on now. Now that I think of it I don't have any add-ons here at work.

Here is what I can think of off the top of my head.
AVG
downthemall
no script

I have those add-ons but will have to check the versions. I think ill try uninstalling no script or the AVG add-on.

i might play with my add ons after work, but I can open 30 links to threads in tabs and they all load perfectly, so i think AHA!

...then i click on this one thread and it stalls *sigh*

I got rid of no script and have the same issue.
*EDIT*
Git rid of all my add-ons... no dice 🙁
Still have the problem on both the desktop and laptop.
