Refresh my memory....is the PS2 capable of progressive scan?

I believe I remember reading somewhere that the PS2 was not previously capable of progressive scan. However, newer models have this feature now. Can anyone confirm this for me?

version 2 does IIRC. That, plus the built in IR port and lan connection were the big upgrades....but I could be wrong

Bingo. There's a thread in Hot Deals about this (I am too lazy to search and link to it, though).

If the PS2 box has a yellow triangle with a "+" in it, it is the newer model, I believe.

they all look crisp and sharp to me in most TVs...

But the games have to be progressive scan too.
