Reformatting question...

I have 2 Maxtor 80GB drives in RAID 0 and it's time for a reformat. I put my XP CD in the drive and set the boot priority for CD first. When the windows setup screen comes up -- Enter for clean install, R for repair, or F3 to exit.. I get stuck. When I press enter it tells me that it detects no hard drives. Pressing "R" also does the same thing. Is there something I'm not doing? I thought this usually brings you to the partition page? The drives are obviously being detected because I can boot into windows fine. They also come up in the boot sequence when you press F8. I'm not going to be using RAID anymore, I just want 2 seperate drives. Am I doing something wrong? And yes -- I do have a floppy drive if I need it. Thanks

Yea, both SATA drives.

Are you providing the SATA driver disk after pressing F6 right when Windows starts to install?

If you don't want RAID anymore, have you gone into the RAID utility and detroyed the array first?

You also need to configure the RAID through the card and BIOS, as well you need to seet up the boot-ROM for the SATA card.

He got it figured out. He unplugged the hds from the SATA RAID ports, and put it in the normal SATA ports, and went from there. He's up and running now.
