Reformatting my D: drive Help?

So I am looking to reformat my D:/drive (storage) as its just completely cluttered with crap. Anyways, I haven't done this type of stuff for a very long time. My SSD C:/drive contains my Windows OS. If I were to reformat my D drive would I have any problems booting up windows etc? I don't want to reformat my HDD (D drive) and then not be able to boot up the OS. I no longer have a disc of Windows to the best of my knowledge...

You won't have any problems booting up windows, but there would be a lot of crap left on your c drive if you have installed software/games on d.

(Exception if d was in your system before you put in c and installed windows,in that case your bootfiles may be on d and formatting would delete them)

I'm really glad TheELF brought up the information about the boot manager. Not very many people know that, and run into no boot scenarios. I'm sure there's a way to recreate a similar partition. Windows is a jerk for doing that. They do the same with some of their C++ redists. Using another drive rather than the drive running.

The partition is not really necessary it's just cleaner for when you want to reinstall your OS.
Booting up from your windows dvd/usb and doing a automated repair will fix the boot issues, it may take several tries but it will do it.
Getting into the recovery console you can do it with the bcdedit command.

But the easiest way is to use easybcd beforehand, checking and altering the bootfiles before it even becomes a problem.
