My mom has a compaq presario 900, model 906us. I'm wanting to reformat the hard drive form the compaq stuff to windows xp pro, has home right now. Are there any special drivers that I have to install? I know what type of video, sound, and ethernet it has. But other than the basics, are there really any other drivers that I have to install? Like one or the battery? Or the keyboard and mouse? If so what? I went to compaq's site and I found the drivers for the laptop. But do I really need all of the drivers? Thanks, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?product=238228&lang=en&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&os=228

Most liekly you won't need all of them. A lot of them will get picked up during the install. Microsoft should support them, and have them in the Windows Update.

Is there a reason your upgrading to Pro when she has Home already? I would just check Device Manager after you install and see what drivers are missing then.
