Hi all, I reformatted an old Dell in my office and I can't seem to locate any of it's driver software (which isn't surprising). I was browsing around the Dell website and found this. That seems to be the right driver, given that the PC is a dimension 4550, but I wanted an "expert opinion" so to speak. I would have to download the driver at home and then burn it to a cd and bring it back, and I'm trying to make this as painless as possible. Thoughts?

Punch in you Service Tag to get the exact NIC your computer has. If you have to guess and go by model only, burn them all.

Each Dell machine has a unique identifier on the back called a "Service Tag". If you take that code and enter it at Dell Support where prompted, you will be given a list of compatible drivers for your system.

Even so the service tag doesn't always narrow it down fully. For example, a few days ago I entered a service tag and was given a list of around 15 NIC drivers to download...talk about pain in the butt.
