Reformating: Software installation order?

I used to have a text file to remind me of the correct order in which to install the OS, patches, drivers, proggies, etc. Anyway, I lost the file. Does anyone have linkage to an appropriate site, or instructions themselves?

I usually just do OS, drivers/patches, then programs, never had a problem with that order
 
I like to install my programs first, like winamp so I have tunes while I'm installing windows.
