I'd like to reinstall a clean version of Windows (upgraded last time). How can I do this without losing all of my data? Or will I have to reinstall everything?

You can do a Deltree on C:\Windows in DOS (using a DOS boot disk with the deltree.exe on it.

Your data will be preserved but you will need to reinstall many of your programs unless they are self-contained and can be run with a simple shortcut link.

If you have a CD burner, you can archive /backup all your data and do it the easy way.

In any case, most programs involving registry links will have to be reinstalled, but the data can be replaced in the programs' own doc file storage area and accessed.
