Reformat SSD?

Hey hey,
So I have bit of a dumb question. I'm wondering if it's "okay"
to use windows to reformat and do a clean install on an SSD?

I'm rebuilding my computer a bit but want to re-use my 1 year old 840 EVO.
Due to the large amount of hardware changes, I'd just like to reinstall win7 pro
But I'm a little hesitant to do a reformat on the SSD, since I'm still relatively new to the SSD lifestyle 😀

Samsung Magician has a secure erase utility... although I don't think you can use it within Windows.

...but the answer to your question is 'yes.' I use Acronis, for example, to wipe my SSDs for reinstalls and such.

Windows will reformat it, but not necessarily wipe it... if you see what I mean.

(Caveat: Not sure about that with an SSD...😕 )
