Reformat C drive

How do you reformat the c drive and wipe it clean?

PS (i dont have partition magic)

Do you have a Win98 boot disk?

An XP CD?

yes I have an Xp CD

I also have win 98 CD , but no boot disk

Are you trying to reinstall XP?

no I am trying to clean up my win2k OS there is something screwed up there, and i want to wipe the c drive clean and start over. i cannot install xp, because i already have it registered to another computer

1) begin Win2000 Setup from the Win2000 CD-ROM

2) when it gets to where it shows all the partitions and drives, delete all the partitions and then press F3 twice to EXIT Windows Setup

3) now thems are all gone. Start Windows Setup a second time and follow through. If you don't have firewall protection, it would be a good idea not to expose the system to a direct Internet connection like plugging it into a broadband modem. If you have a router to keep the worms and hackers off your back, that's good enough to get started with.

I think ole Bill G has got us beat on this one. As soon as setup detects a copy of win2k it says "cannot delete partition"

Then make yourself a DBAN CD and use the fastest nuke method, since your goal is to blankify the drive
