Reflective Tint (for homes)

Anyone know how to reflect the sun/heat off of the window back the outside rather than heating rooms up inside a house because there are soo many windows? Some people have said to use aluminum foil, but it looks really trashy to do something like that. Any idea's is greatly appreciated.

..double or triple pane windows wit mini blinds in em. otherwise some kind of window film wit mini blinds inside.

plywood?

Here's an idea... how about the stuff that's used for tinting car windows? Apply it on the outside of the window. (it will heat up, but the heat will be on the outside of the glass rather than the inside)
