Reflect world
Reflect all

I managed to catch alot of change in that scene, the differance between them could be bigger or smaller depending on what area you're in. I can't find the differance between "reflect world" and "simple reflections." I made a short timedemo of me driving the airboat around in the water and then jumping out and walking around in the water and shooting off a couple rounds to check the performace differance. Here are the results:

Reflect all: 83.1 FPS
Reflect world: 98.3 FPS
Simple reflections: 98.3 FPS

(1024x768 32 bit color. Texture, model, shader, and shadow detail on high. Triliner, no antialiasing, vsync off.)

Maybe I wasn't in an area that showed a differance between "simple reflections" and "reflect world", because they looked and ran the same. The image quality differance between "reflect all" and "reflect world" is pretty noticeable. The performance hit was 18% in my demo. It's up to you whether you want the extra reflections or an increased framerate, it depends on your system though.

My test system:
Leadtek 6600 GT AGP
Athlon 64 2800+
1GB Kingmax PC-3200
EPoX 8KDA3J

More importantly, have fun with Half-Life 2! :)
