Reflashing WRT54GS after bad flash

I posted about it once but I can't find it.

Basically I tried to flash DD-WRT to my WRT54GS router and something went wrong. Now it goes straight to a blank screen when accessing the router IP but the router is still operational. Someone linked to a page that gave some directions how to reflash it when the router is in this state. I'm just going to put stock firmware back on it and use it as an AP.

That's a nice link. I KNEW you couldn't just "brick" a router. There's always a way to put software on it even if you have mucked things up and messed up the image.

LOL..and it works...not that i know it from personal experience 😉

I'm sure linksys wasn't stupid enough to not have some kind of ROM on the device that allows you to get code on it. The reason they didn't include a button is probably so home users don't screw up their router.

Anyone know where the "Auto Upgrade Utility" is? All I can find it the firmware BIN image anywhere.

edit: found this but I have a wrt54gs v1.0 and I don't see it listed as being supported.

tried holding down the reset button for a minute and now it works. The dd-wrt web site is dead for me so anyone know the generic passwords?

edit: Got new stock firmware loaded and everything. Now I need play with it a bit since I haven't touched this unit in a year or two.
