Refinishing a pool table

Any of you guys ever done it? My parents have an old slate pool table sitting in a shed and in my new place I have spare room. Only thing is it needs new felt. Is it a huge pain/expensive? Curious if any of you guys have experience with this.

iirc it's pretty pricey to get it resurfaced...

You have to get it done very well, a table that isn't perfectly flat sucks ass...

From what I understand it just needs a new set of felt aside from being assembled, we still on the same page?

I put new felt on my pool table many years ago. It was not hard at all but did take some patience. Just take your time on the corners and use some good spray adhesive.

You really gotta make sure to get GOOD spray adhesive. We assembled our pool table a few years ago and apparently we didn't stretch the felt very well, because now, it's bunched up in some areas and definitely not flat.

yep, definitely hire someone to do it. i wouldn't even consider doing it yourself.

I did it last year, it was easy. The hardest part was the bumpers, and that wasn't even that hard. if you can get an air stapler to use on the bumpers it makes it a lot easier.
