Refilling toner cartridges?

I have an HP Laserjet 1018, should I attempt refilling my toner cartridges? Any chance of permanent printer damage?
 
Not if it is done by a reputable commercial firm. The good ones replace some of the HP parts that are only good for a couple of uses.
 
I have done it myself many times. The cost of doing it yourself is just a fraction of buying ready to go cartridges.

Never had a problem.
 
I've loaded toner into the cartridge in my HP laserjet 1020 and it works just fine.

edit - careful, it can get messy with toner all over the place if your not careful
