Refereeing in NCAA bball is getting worse and worse...

Look at this! Insane...

Every bball game I see I am making calls left and right- why not clean up the game overall and make the real calls instead of calling those candy ass hand checks?! There are some horribly obvious calls that the refs miss and they have cost my favorite team (Syracuse Orangemen) a game this year (against Boston College- sure, SU lost it with a little help from themselves, but they wouldn't have needed it if the refs had called some disgustingly obvious fouls and a traveling). It's horrible!

They have become so biased and they make calls from the opposite side of the court when they are in absolutely NO position to make the call. I think it's time to clean up the game and improve the officiating.

<sigh> I really have a feeling this thread is going no where...I'm talking about basketball with a bunch of geeks. ;)

Hmmm...this sucks...I want to go play bball, but the SU vs. West Va. game comes on at 2. Oh well, hopefully the gym will still be open after the game!

I agree with you zippy. I have seem some HORRIBLE calls made in games this year. The NBA seems to be having similar problems too. I'm not sure if there are any easy solutions though?

Are we the only geeks that ball? :)

I agree that the refereeing in NCAA games is a little shaky this year, but they have tried to crack down on that lame stuff like hand checks this year. I have no idea why, but such is life. Being from Syracuse, I am extremely happy that SU is doing as well as they are, cause I can guarantee you that no one expected them to have 19 wins at this point in the season. Jim Boeheim even said that he didn't think they would be doing this well in an interview he did for one of the local news stations. I'm just hoping that they can rebound from this skid that they're having so far this month and make a good run in the NCAA tournament. Although, next year SU will be a team to watch out for because of the 4 amazing freshmen they are getting. But for now.....GO ORANGE :)
