I get something like that once every few months, mine is caused by excess wax buildup around my ear drum. and it lasts about 1-2 weeks... feels like you are deaf in one ear. They have drops for it though, so thats good.

You can use hydrogen peroxide, too.

no, hydrogen peroxide doesnt work for this.. this stuff is more oil based so it clings to the hairs in the ear

i scratched the inside a bit to take out some dried blood and then woke up with this condition. that's why i think it's an infection but i dont feel anything. it wasn't this bad at first. i could restore hearing by pulling on my ear a bit but the q-tip i used might have rammed debris in... damned q-tips i'm never gonna use them again.

anything thanks for the suggetions. i'll try them if this happens again but i think it might be safer if i went to the doctor instead this time.

right now i have to block my other ear b/c the contrast in the sound levels is very disorienting.

i have scarring in both ears having had many ear infections, and as a result i'm very sensitive to noise and have had a reduction in hearing in one of my ears. if you have had ear infections in the past this might be what is causing it.

hmm maybe that is why i am very sensitive to noise. sometimes even somebody's voice can make my ears feel highly irritated, and of course i can't stand the noise leel in arcades and stuff... but i dont normally have hearing reduction, in fac ti have very sensitive hearing

i dont know.. i have tried some oil based ear drops, i have trialed alcohol and it hans't been fixed

man going to the doctor is so troublesome here. you have to make an appointment and wait til a business day. where i came from you just go to the hospital and wait for up to an hour and you are helped. oh well at least it's all free (except the medicine)

yeah, i know the feeling. :( i can't tolerate anything loud. when i went to see harry snotter a few months ago, it was so loud that i cringed throughout the entire movie. later on i found out that movie was filmed at 10 decibels higher than what was acceptable. grrr.

I went to a concert on Friday and my ears only stopped ringing about 7 hours ago. :( DO NOT stand right next to the speakers!
