RedSox To trade Nomar?????

There are rumors all over boston newspapers about trading Nomar for Alex Rodriguez. You guys think this will happen? People have been saying that Nomar isnt really happy in Boston...so i dont think he would object to it.

they should do Nomah and Manny for ARod and Juan Gon.

1.) Juan Gone is a free agent, so he can't be traded

2.) That would be the stupidest trade for the Red Sox...Juan Gone is old, washed-up and has a back problem.

They're not trading Nomar for ARod. The discrepancy in $$ is just too big -- Manny for ARod is a possibility but I doubt they'll do that either.

Its gotta be a three-way deal if it esstentially boils down to Nomar for ARod.

Theres a rumor of a three way trade.

The three way trade will involve Nomar, Manny, Arod, and maybe one or two other players. Texas would get Nomar and one or two other players, Boston would get Arod, and the other team would get Manny. Cash will likely also change hands as well.

the third team is Anaheim (potentially):

A-Rod goes to Boston, Garciaparra to Anaheim, and Eckstein and Francisco Rodriguez to the Rangers

Boston has to unload Manny. They cant afford Manny + Arod. Any trade with Boston involving Arod would also include Manny, unless Boston works out another trade with someone else before hand.

If Texas can unload Arod for good players, get rid of Chan ho Park, and the bring in some pitchers with the money they'd be saving they might actually be better.

Texas wants nothing to do with Manny. Texas already talked about trading Arod to Boston, but Boston said they would have to take Manny. Which is why there may be a three way trade in the works.

Where are you people getting that Manny is involved? Nothing I read involves him. If it happens, it'll be a three-team deal that includes Texas/Anaheim/Boston, but in the end, it would essentially be Nomar for A-Rod. Manny not involved whatsoever.

Edit: Link

Yea but financially it doesnt make sense for the Sox to have ARod and Manny thats like 45 million between two players.

As much as I love the Red Sox, immitating the Yankees style of throwing the money around doesn't seem to jive with me

Arod isn't going anywhere. He's still got about 180 mil left on his contract and despite how good he is nobody's taking that on. The only way to move him would be if he agreed to give some back or restructure his deal. No way that's happening. Arod's proven he's in it for the money and that's it.

I'd be VERY surprised a team would trade for Manny when they could've picked him up a few weeks back without giving up anyone. How much interest was reported in the media? ZERO.

Very true. While we don't know what silent things might have gone on there was no reported interest. He's another guy with a too large contract that I don't think people want. Nor do people want the problems he brings imo.

I don't see how they can keep him now though. The fact that they hung him out on waivers can't be sitting well with him.
