i do love watching football, but this game has no juice.

I'd rather watch a high school football game than the redskins vs the 49ers.

Joe Gibbs wasted a great defensive effort this year.

Wasted as in the Redskins' defense was amazing this year, as you said much better than last year. Yet, with the impact signing of Clinton Portis and the questionable (WHY?!?!) of an aged and ineffective Mark Brunell with pretty good wideouts in Coles and Gardner, Gibbs couldn't do anything with them.

that's the most cup is half empty attitude i've ever seen.

how about, WOW gibbs did a great job with the Defense this year, now if he can do the same for the Offense next year, we really have something to look forward to.

:)

btw, i'm not a redskins fan.

I agree with you he did a fantastic job with the defense. However, a good chunk of the money was spent on the offense. They traded one of the best shutdown corners in the league in Champ Bailey for an impact runner (who IMO benefited GREATLY from denver's crazy O line) in Clinton Portis. And yet they only score around 14 points a game (iirc).

Gibbs was brought in to make the team win. Sure he made the defense great but there's no excuse for the poor offensive showing (even though there have been some injuries.)

I find it funny that this thread already has more replies than the Steelers thread. :Q

Anyway, the Skins at least have something to play for. Best yards-per-game D in the NFL if they hold San Fran <270 yards.

was pretty close. i think he was turned sideways but the guy that took the ball was just a bit ahead of him.

we'll see what the replay shows.
