It's almost all metal, and most of that is hair metal. Where's the 8-minute rising-intensity tracks by Mogwai? Where's the Floyd? Where's the Arcade Fire, the Green Day, the Interpol?

But no, all they have is Ozzy and Black Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult and ZZ Top.

What is RedOctane?

Company that either made or licensed GH. They also make the controllers.

Ah, the PS2 game. Thanks I was lost there for a minute

;)

OP: I haven't heard much about it, but GH2 is either in the works or being prepped. They're supposedly adding a bunch of stuff...

Eh, the only good confirmed track they're adding to GH2 is Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' on a hole in a paper heart. The rest is just more of the same hair-metal.

And David Bowie, and The Ramones (punk), and Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn...

I'd say only half the songs would classify as metal. If you classify "Godzilla" as metal, you're f'ing nuts.

...and the reason they don't have Pink Floyd is because they want songs that would be fun to play. I'm sorry, but The Wall doesn't sound like a good guitar game song.

The song I WOULD love to see is Wayne Cramer's "Bad Seed".

this reminds of that saying about not being able to make all of the people happy all of the time.

personally, i think it has a good mix of songs on it...

since 'hair metal' is stuff like poison, ratt, dokken, what songs do you think qualify for this?

Bark at the Moon by Ozzy maybe...but Blue Oyster Cult and Deep Purple are not Hair metal bands...

The Wall wouldn't be fun to play? Are you smoking crack? The guitar solo is freaking awesome in that song...

XBox360 version that will be out around xmas/Q1-07 will have downloadable songs (for a price of course), just like XBox's Live downloadable Karaoke Revolution songs. You can bet that they'll have Floyd, Green Day, Hendrix, Metallica, Van Halen, Smashing Pumpkins, Coheed, all stuff I'd love to play. That said #1 still doesn't have a bad track listing, hell it won best metal award for Gamespot. Also I actually think some of the songs that were "meh" before are now rocking after playing them on GH (like Queen, Incubus, and Sum41). My .02
