I am trying to install the new Lycoris/Redmond Linux onto an old Athlon 700 system with an Asus K7M MB with a TNT card. I DL'ed the ISO and have verified the MD5 checksum for the ISO I DLed and burned and it is correct. I can't find much on the HW compatibility list from the Lycrois website either, my problem is that when trying to do an install the installer will hang at the starting "Lizard" and after approximately 10 or 15 minutes It will give an error msg something about can't install and to read the documentation, I have no documentation. Any Linux gurus here have any suggestions? I know this is a good disc because I did sucessfully install it on another of my systems.

noc, nothing as far as error messages, it just "sits" there waiting on the LIZARD to start like I said. Nothing crazy as far as HW goes. Also regarding the better distro, I have Suse 7.3 installed as well as Mandrake, but I want to try this new distro, it's not that Linux won't install on here I just want to try this one on this machine.

Oh and about the "Old" Athlon 700 remark I made I guess you're right, it isn't that old it's just older than my Athlon XP machine but is really just as capable for most apps.

Set my BIOS back to defaults and even tried to do a safe mode install still the same thing, hangs at the wizard then eventually the message it gives is smoething like "oops! there has been an error while attemting to install please read the printed documentation for more help" I don't have any printed documentation and if I did it probably wouldn't help a bit.
