Redirected local printer not appearing on Terminal Server?

So I am logging in to a 2008 R2 Terminal server and trying to get it to print on my local printer but for some reason the printer does not show up even though I have it set to redirect it.
Any ideas why and how I could fix this? Thanks!!

You must install the printer driver on your terminal server. It should solve the problem. Unless that driver is not supported. Also, I don't know how many printers are already installed on the server. This is not a simple thing to solve, there are a lot of issues about terminal server printing out there...

But still, try installing the driver on the terminal server first if you can. I hope it helps!

On normal rdp-behaviour the terminalserver requires the printerdriver in the same version as on client installed to redirect the local printer into the rdp-session.
Microsofts easyprint shows a solution without any special driver on terminalserver installed, but not all printers are supported and the performance is not the best.
At my customers I use a solution called 'Slimprinter'. It is a powerfull thirdparty addon. You can find this product at http://www.slimprinter.de.

You can try without any registration, simply download, install and test it.
