Hi all, I have managed to enable RDP remote connection on Vista Premium, however need to redirect the printer output as per Terminal Services. Does anyone know if this can be done with a normal PC RDP connection or have any other ideas. I havent bought the printer yet in case some sort of web enabled printer is required.

Sure, there's a checkbox to redirect local resources right in mstsc. However, printing via TS is one of the worst things ever. If you have the exact same drivers installed in both places and you get really lucky it might work, otherwise you're screwed.

Cheers, I thought printer redirection was only on terminal server, very pleased if it works on normal pc...will give it a go!

Well I don't know if I've ever tried it to a non-server system, but mainly because it sucks so bad in general that I avoid it whenever possible. Printing is probably one of the most problematic things on any OS and adding in something like TS just makes it that much worse.

This is so true.

OP - worst case scenario if you're banging your head trying to get printing working, download CutePDF Writer (free), print to PDF in your RDP session and copy the PDF from the remote machine to your local one to print it.
