I would get a different PSU, I ThermalTake doesnt have a very good reputation. If your going to spend $200 on memory, get something with good memory timings. A paired set of Crucial,Kingston,Corsair would be better in the long run.

ThermalTake scored well on Anand's PSU roundup so i thought it would be ok...could you recomend any more PSU\s that are 450Watt+ and like 60-80$? And i dont see whats wrong with Geil ram...timgins are good 2-3-3-6, and i can expect them to run at the rated timings...

Also,,any opinions on the case? seems nice for only 60$

I havent heard that, only the 9500 np to the 9700

They use different memory also. Even if you could flash the bios to get the bios to tell it to run at pro speeds, you're likely going to be hit or miss on it actually running that fast. I would think you'd just want to use one of the overclocking utilities and take it up a step at a time to see how fast it will go rather than doing it in one big jump by changing the bios (assuming that's even possible).

Do you guys think a Sonata would be better than my current case / PSU combo...its about 50$ cheaper, because i wil have to buy 4 fans with this case. But im a little skeptical about only a 380W PSU, even if it is a quality ANtec...what do you guys think?

Is the onboard audio chip good enough to substitute an Audigy? Those speakers surely benefit from a good sound card.

looks fine, all thats left now is to flash the bios on that 9800np to a 9800 pro and your done!

I bought a 9800np from newegg a week ago and it came with the non-flashable infineon 3.0ns memory. That said, it did overclock to 425/351 stable with the standard HSF and a side panel fan, so all is still good! Good luck.

From what I've heard about the 9800 non-pro it's a crapshoot for what memory you get. There are 4 possibilities I believe. 3 speeds of Infineon RAM and 1 speed of Samsung RAM. Some can flash 9800 pro and some can't. I have also ordered a Sapphire 9800 np OEM and am hoping I'm lucky.

the sonata rocks, just make sure you get a very very good heatsink if you plan on oc-ing. i'd suggest at least an SLK-800 and then the best would be a 900. an 80MM vantec stealth should probably be enough for a fan on it. you'll have a very quiet and very powerful setup if you go that way.

a bare 300watts would be plenty. People that go out and buy these 450-600 watt power supplies have no idea. They have just been brainwashed into thinking they need all that extra power.
