I'm a newbie with Linux. I cant seem to find out how to change my screen resoultion. Can someone help? Thanks!

Ctrl+Alt+"+" or "-" usually does the trick. You have to have several screen modes described/allowed in X conf for that.

An easy way to make it where you have a lot of screen choices is to rerun Xconfigurator and then chose more than one resolution. They you can use the ctl-alt-+
