So what's the difference between "Classic X Window System" and "X Window System"?

Would I need them both?

pros..cons..?

Redhat site doesnt seem to help any on this....

Support for video cards not supported by both servers. 3.3.6 had support for some (older) cards that 4.x does not (yet?) support. Install both, then you wont have to fiddle with it much later if you upgrade your video I guess. Like I said before, Im not sure if my answer is correct, but it almost sounds logical 😛
 
I have to agree with n0c about the X versions.

I actually needed this on my Alpha, originally it had an S3 virge in it which isn't supported by X4, luckily Debian lets you install X4 with X3 servers (don't ask me how, but it works) so when I finally got a decent card in it (Millenium II) I just had to change X servers to the X4 one.
 
interesting to say the least...i think i will try it both ways...once with only the "new" xwindows and once with classic and new...ill be sure to let you guys know whats what...thanks.
