RedHat -- Help needed getting into the KDE

Hi guys. I'm in need of some help getting into the KDE of my work's Linux box. I'm able to log into the box through the command line prompt, but when I run the command % startx
I get an "IO error 104 on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests.... "
it also warns me that it " could not open default font 'fixed' "

can I get some help here? I'm don't know what the heck is going on. I do have root and super user access. Thanks!

It sounds like you will need to reconfigure X, but I can't remember the command for that in Red Hat. Maybe try XF86Setup. If that doesn't work then you will need to find the correct command to setup X again.

Thanks. I'll try XF86Setup in a minute and see if it works. I tried Xconfigurator yesterday and it looked like it would do the trick but when i ran startx again, it gave me the same crash. My boss updated the kernel last week to 2.2.17 or something like that. Thats probably the reason for the errors. If XF86Setup doesn't work... anyone got anymore suggestions?? Thanks!
