I'm having some problems with a webservers here at work and it's driving me crazy. An install of Redhat (7.3 and 8.0) is corrupting on one of our webservers. I bought a new server, installed Redhat, copied over the websites (that is all) and I'm getting the same issues. It must be the data from the websites... but can copying over 10megs of websites screw up a Redhat install each and everytime? I'm runing fsck on the files and they seem to be fine.

Any ideas?

btw, the corruption is progressive. After a couple of days, I can't login through SSH. Then I can't login through the shell. If I reboot, I can't boot back up as system files are corrupted.

Did you build or buy the system? If you built it did you burn it in? Suggestion would be to try memtest on it. Then reload and stress the hell out if it. I would start with a network file copy as that seems to be the cause of your current trouble...

Question: would you be running on an LSI SCSI chipset? If not are you running SCSI and if so what controller / drives. If you have easy access to the drives put up the part number and the Maker. I have a hunch or two but I am gonna hold on to them until I get a little more info.

BOught it, it's a Dell Poweredge 600sc... and it's having the same signs of problem as the previous two servers. It must be the data (around 30 websites) that I'm copying from the old drive... though as I said, I've scanned it and it appears to be fine.

THis is really getting annoying...
