I have an extra 20gb HDD laying around and I wanted to experiment with Redhat 9. Is it pretty easy to use? How about setup? Is it hard to find Windows porgrams that will run on Linux? Or should I run maybe Windows ME through Virtual PC?

I just install RH 9 last night and the setup was extremely easy, found all of my hard and set it up just fine without me doing much of anything. Including my SCSI and soundcard.

If your worried about it, try out knoppix or SuSE's live install CD

Those are linux on a CD distros were it configures everything as automaticly as possible and runs completely in RAM and CD-ROM.

If it works with out much issue there, then redhat will have similar support.
