Redhat 9, a KVM, a USB mouse, and a USB-to-PS2 adapter

Hello. I am in quite a pickle. I have a machine running redhat 9 and a KVM switch with inputs for a PS2 keyboard and a ps2 mouse. My microsoft mouse is a USB mouse. I bought a USB-to-PS2 adapter and tried to use the usb mouse in the KVM, but the system won't let it work. Any suggestions?

Is your mouse an Intellimouse explorer optical? If so...well lets just say you might be out of luck. That mouse has problems with adapters. But, anyway, does it light up? Can you hook the mouse right up to the computer? Give that a try and see what happens. Good luck!
