Just got an e-mail to this effect from our LUG mailing list.
Apparently this was announced over the RH Mirror mailing list (one of the LUG members runs a RH mirror).

Cool...just installed 7.2 w/KDE recently on a 2nd work computer. Any good web sites/forums for Linux users. I am familiar with unix commands from my Sco and AIX days, just need to brush up :D

I installed 7.2 on my machine a few weeks ago. How difficult will it be to upgrade to 7.3? What is involved?

there's a pretty fast mirror (from my experience, at least) somewhere at indiana.edu or something - check the list of mirrors on redhat's web site

I've upgraded Red Hat Linux a few times. I've upgraded SuSE Linux a few times. In those cases, the upgrades worked well.

I would recommend the upgrade only with a "minor" version number change. I.e. from 7.2 to 7.3, but not from 7.3 to 8.0.

In my experience, upgrading Linux is much more reliable than upgrading Windows. MS is constantly reinventing the wheel, and with installed 3rd party software, upgrading Windows is often an iffy proposition.

Anyone get confirmation on this? I have a few machines to do and I may as well get 7.3, rather than use 7.2 and patch the heck out of it.

I agree, who's got a fast mirror?

I was going to install 7.2 on a server that's getting new drives tonight but I'd rather do 7.3 I'm only downloading at @15Kb/s now
