In one of the labs I manage I propagated a new printer setup around to all the machines. I copied /etc/printcap and the directory /var/spool/lpd to all clients, restarted LPD, etc.. However, when I open printtool I don't see the printers.
I wanted to have printtool accessible for other admins to have an easy way to reset the printers. Does anyone know what files I am missing? I would have thought that printcap & the whole lpd spool directory would have been all I needed.
