Redhat 7.3 or Mandrake 9?

I am Thinking of Partioning my HDD and Installing either Rehat 7.3 or Mandrake 9 along side Win Xp Corp.

which one do you think is the best and do you really think it is worth putting them along side Win Xp?

(BTW i have never ever used a Linux/Unix OS so this would be my first time of using one 🙂 )

Mandrake 9 hasnt been released yet.

It's only amatter of time now before that happens...

Coming back to the original question,

I would recommend using RH7.3, for the simple reason that it is a "stable" release. Moreover, unlike the to-be-released Mandrake 9, it
does not use gcc 3.2, which means you can complie / run a lot of apps without trouble.

I tried mandrake 9 betas 1, 2, and 4 2 and 4 were very polished, and 4 was supposed to be a RC I think, if you want to have fun and learn try mandrake, at the worst reinstall.

I didn't think I needed to spell it out, but yes, I was referring it to the release candidate. I mentioned it since mcveigh wasn't too sure about the RC version being released.
