Redhat 7.1 - Update no workee & Filesystem error

Running RedHat 7.1.

GNOME locked up while trying to do some various tasks. Had to reset PC.

Message:
Give root password for maintenanace
(or type Control-D for normal startup):
(Repair filesystem) 1 #

I typed yes, y, ?, and nothing happens. So I am stuck at this prompt, as I would like to do a filesystem check/repair, but do not know how.

Addtionally, when I try the Update agent in GNOME, I am presented with an error that the free service is overloaded and to try another time. Anyway around this? I mean, you pay for RedHat up front and you need to update it and you have to pay again?

Thanks.

You have to pay for the 'premium' guaranteed update access, otherwise you fight for the anonymous slots with all the other freeloaders =)

How can I found out which is the proper drive name to the OS.

Thanks

Even from a shell prompt and not through the GUI? 🙂

type 'cat /etc/fstab' or 'mount'

Even from a shell prompt and not through the GUI?

Same server either way.

try fsck --help ...

just this and after the fsck is over just reboot to see if it's right ( it was supposed to ... )

move to ext3 then ... its less sensible ...
