I only looked at Reddit after the JLaw thing.

I never go there.

Was interesting seeing people that went there probably for the same reason getting furious en mass griping about trolls afterwards that didn't expect it.

That in itself was amusing.

Reddit is what you make of it. Unsubscribe for the defaults and find some of the niche subreddits. I subscribe to things like DIY, 3dprinting, woodworking, artisanvideos, etc.

I am relatively new to Reddit. I started posting in the NFL forum earlier this summer and before that never paid attention to the site. It is a nice setup imo but the quality of the various forums is all over the place. I am still in the "surfing" Reddit phase, I do really like the NFL one.

I've become pathetic enough to start posting on 4chan, but I have never seen a remotely decent discussion on Reddit. Reddit is only useful for nude selfies of hot women, as well as occasionally great erotic stories/probably-fiction.

Speaking of Reddit, /r/atot, it exists. Not my doing.

Reddit is really what you make of it though like Leros said, there are lot of niche subreddits where people are actually decent.

Others can be iffy especially the main ones. You can't please anyone on the main ones, it's kind of like here, chances are if you post something it's a repost and everybody gets on your back about it. Or if you have an opinion you are better to keep it to yourself or you'll get jumped on, though it's not as bad as here for that.

On the other hand you can get some pretty good conversations on niche sub reddits. People liked my server setup and it stayed near the top of /r/serverporn for a while, I thought that was pretty cool as I did not expect to make the top of a subreddit for that long.
