Reddit won't load properly on Wifi. But works fine on data.

So I have this problem with reddit (mobile and website). It wont load the images/gifs properly or it takes very long time through my wifi router.

But when i use my mobile data, it works fine. Everything loads super fast.

What might be wrong with my wifi router?

Honestly, it sounds like it could be a DNS issue with your ISP. Since the mobile data is using the phone company as an ISP, rather than your wired (?) internet provider, things work.

It could be an IPv4 versus IPv6 issue too.

Try going to test-ipv6.com and see what it says, on both connections.

Who is your wired ISP?

It can be Browser issue too.

I go to sites that (as an example) will not load to Firefox but would load to Chrome.

Further troublshooting is necessary. Are other websites also having issues? If you plug directly into the modem, is the problem resolved?

Also, OP, when you say, "use your mobile data", are you talking about using the cell phone itself to browse, or using your cell as a wifi hotspot, and using the same PC to use the cell's mobile data option, rather than your wifi router, on your wired ISP? Jack is probably right, it may just be down to a browser issue on the PC. My take on it, is that it could be security software on the PC, scanning what comes in on your internet connection. Maybe there's some settings (for "real-time scanning"), that need to be adjusted. What security software suite (if any) do you have installed on your PC, and what OS?

Cellphone data (simcard), not hotspot. If it is the browser issue, why is Reddit App also slow then?

I am not saying reddit wont open, but the gifs and videos in the reddit load slow.

So there is ISP provided modem (with built in wifi) and my own router (Linksys E1550). I know this router is really old and outdated.

Here's the results from ipv6 test.

wired and wifi connection from Linksys router to laptop and cellphone

No IPv6 address detected
You appear to be able to browse the IPv4 Internet only. You will not be able to reach IPv6-only sites.

Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have no access to the IPv6 Internet, or is not configured to use

it. This may in the future restrict your ability to reach IPv6-only sites

Your readiness score
0/10 for your IPv6 stability and readiness, when publishe

So, are you saying that just that the cellular data conection is faster to load than your wired ISP?

That could be true. You said "modem", do you have DSL?

Yup, rockauto for example wont work correctly on android for me on firefox, but works fine on chrome and the stock android browser.
