I owe the Rebel Alliace a great debt of gratitude for stepping up and making this possible.

Sitting on the couch propped up on pillows, in more pain than I have been in in months, for the last 3 days and knowing that I would have to let the sites go, that was tough, I gave in and made the decision to give up the server, and made the decision to sell off most of my computers, I was sad that I had let everyone down.

I posted the news on the RA site and here and I got to admit, that was hard. I expected folks to be amicable, I never expected that the RA would step up and jump to save the site.

It was nice and good as long as it lasted but your new house is definitely worth more than the site. 🙂

But shutting off the internet ... doesn't that mean that we will lose you as a TeAm mate, friend and poster here on TA? That's bad man, that's bad! 🙁 🙁

I mean, I very well understand that you have to save money, no question, but maybe a small, old but trusty 56k modem won't blow the money plan and you could still be online once in a while?

Think about it Mike, I'd hate to see you go here!

Then I have seen a post, and thought: it may be OK.
I am also sorry to see Redeye go, but IIRC you have hade some probs with HDD, power and such. We hoped that the new house would make this better.
And you got a job - and that takes time. Consdering that and the new house ... that puts astrain on the finances. I hope that it will be better for you- and that very soon!

Mike buddy.... I am sorry to hear you must leave us. Your contributions have meant a lot and you need to know you have touched many people in special ways.

I believe the time will come when you can enjoy these exploits again and in the meantime, I applaud your decision to concentrate on what matters most until then. (Family!)

Mike, Life sure has a nack for getting in the way sometimes, but there has to be a few bumps to keep us on our toes and appreciating the good times. I hope hope your path will be mostly smooth from here on out. Good luck, and we hope you get back our way after a while.

 
Hey Mike, you've always been a great friend to me and you've always been there when I needed you. Thank you so very much for that, you really are one of the greatest people I've met here. I agree with Christian, you can't just go, man we'll miss you!! 🙁 So here's me knowing it must be hard keeping things up and going, but hoping my friend stays with us! :beer:😀

Its not the end of the world!

I am not gone yet lol and I will be back at some point.

The wife was supposed to have get second back at better hours and a less stressful enviroment, but no word as yet.

I have :
1700+

2400+
2.4 intel
3.2 intell

that I will be posting specs on shortly, they run 24/7 as crunchers, the 2.4 has a hdd issue in its current state but I believe I have a replacement.

I have motherboards, cpu's scsi drives and scsi cards, cables, video cards, routers, switches, monitors, keyboards, mics, nik cards, power strips, that will be up for sale as soon as I get the specs and test them.

I also have an opteron 165 computer, and a dual xeon 2.8 computer that I am trying to keep at this point but may go up for sale as well.

I appreciate the kind words and actions you all have shown me through the years. I apologize for the loss to the team and it is my intention to return once I get things back under control. Hopefully by next spring.

My goodness Mike... don't apologize... we'll miss you in your absence, but as so many people have noted in the past, your presence is so much more valuable and meaningful to us than anything else. Your work on redeyexpress is exemplary and we all appreciate it... I'd love to have you popping in now and again! Take care of what's truly important... the light's on and there's a cold brew awaiting you...

Awesome... I'm glad to hear it will stay open. I'm especially glad to hear that fellow crunchers came through for you. When I posted about some crap that I was going through, everyone was amazingly supportive. My wife actually got teary-eyed as she was reading it... 🙂
