Tampa hosted a Redbull Flugtag event yesterday. The event planners were really lucky because the weather was just plain awesome. The past two weeks we had continuous crappy weather --- lots of rain and thunderstorms.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun. I'm still amazed how they managed to pack ~100,000 people in such a close space. Downtown Tampa is normally a ghost town during night and weekends. It was just a sight to see traffic backed up and all the street parking lots filled. I got lucky and found an empty spot in a public parking area.
If you have a Flugtag event coming to your area, I suggest checking it out at least once. If you get a chance to assemble a team, then I would recommend trying to sign up. Thirty-six teams showed off their contraptions yesterday, and it was funny to see them crash into the water 30ft below.
