Searched high and low but couldn't find the thread and I can't remember who the in house wine connoisseur was.

I probably won't drink too much myself, it's mainly for the guest. Our price range is about $10/bottle, and the food would mainly be seafood with a 1-2 dishes of meat.

We might head down to the local bevmo for help this weekend, but just wanted some opinions before we go. Suggest away!

just get Royal red ("Rubby red") and it's white quivalent. It's like $20/gal here, which means it is probably <$10/gal in the US 😛

or any cheapass gallon wine 😛

The Secret is out: 'Two Buck Chuck'

That convetion usually holds true, but there are a few dishes that require you to use more of a experimental approach when the line is blurred a bit (light vs. dark) upon prepration of the dish, especially when you incorperate all parts of the meal.

Excellent read on that two-buck-chuck.. My friend came back from Trader Joe's with 4 cases and he gave me a bottle of each kind.. I loved the shiraz!
