I recently purchased and received my Rio Red Swingline stapler. Today I took it into work for the first time and allowed two people to use it. Would you believe it that both of them commented on how nice it was and how they would like to "have" one for themselves? One guy actually tried to make me "forget" he had it! What the hell is up with that? Now I know how poor Milton felt all the damn time, people trying to steal his red stapler and all. You wouldn't believe the reaction people give you when they see it either. What is it about a red stapler that gets everyone all worked up? I'm talking everyone too, not just people I know have seen Office Space.

On another note, does anyone know of some kind of proximity alarm setup that I could use with my stapler? I want something that when the item is removed from the office or away from my desk for a certain distance, an alarm will sound? Is there anything like that that I could affix a small sensor to my stapler? I've seen several similar getups for laptops, but they include a key fob thingy that would obstruct my stapler usage. I'm serious here too! I would like a system that I could use to affix small receivers on my personal items and if they leave my office, an alarm sounds, kind of like the anti-shoplifting systems at stores but much smaller and much cheaper? Anyone know of anything like that?

Here is what you should do: Get a 12 volt battery and some wire and hook it up to the battery when your away. Put it throgh the drawer or something. Or just superglue it to a big item like a file cabinet or your desk or some else big and clumsy to move.
