You really can't separate the "red sox fans" from "boston." Without the fans, the city is nothing. Baseball is like religion here, our anti-christ is Derek Jeeter. And if you take the "annoying fans" out of boston, all you have is an empty set of buildings... pretty boring if you ask me.
