I would love to see this happen.
So much heartbreak at stake and so much joy for the other if this happens.

Slight outside chance...

It would be great. Would suck if my beloved Red Sox lost to them though..... Not sure if we could handle that.

Would probably be the best rated series in a very long time though, and it sure would be good for the game.

LOL hahahah

i don't think that this is a good year,to see that matchup.

But,you never can tell!

The Yankees clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs by taking one game of their doubleheader with Baltimore.

With the lack of a dominant team this year (with the possible exception of the Giants), it's possible, and would be the most enjoyable series in a long time, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

I can see the hype:

"Well, one of them's gota win, right? Right?"

I would hate to see my Cubs lose, but we're used to it, so it wouldn't be that much of a heart-breaker. :)

Cubs Win! Cubs Win! (because you know the curse ain't over yet ; )

Hmmmm, come to think of it, the Cubs last won the title before heavier-then-air flight by the Wright Brothers. This is the centennial of flight, so, this kinda makes sense...

Hey, I thought one team had to win the All-Star game and that has ended in a tie.....

The Yankees play better on the road than home, so that 'advantage' you can throw right out the window.

The House that Ruth built is someplace no opposing team likes to go in the playoffs. I doubt a single Yankees player will say they wish they didnt' have home field advantage

Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win!

Looks like it just might happen.
Now they just gotta get past the killer offense of the Braves and Giants.

If the Cubs played the Red Sox, the sun would turn into a small black lump, and we would all need coats.

/edit, hmmm, that would be good for the Cubs since we know the sox will never win a WS.

BTW, Gooooooooo Sox. I think they will make easy work of the A's, BUT the bullpen will be the disaster in the ALCS and the Yanks! I can't even think about the world series, as the Yanks will be the biggest threat I think. Even more dangerous than anything the Sox would face IF they get to the series.

Hate to pat myself on the back........but, I think I will. The Yanks don't have to say they wish they didn't have home-field advantage now because they blew it outta their arse. Like I said, they've been a better road team all season.

The Cubs last won the World Series in 1908 and the Red Sox last won it in 1918. If they meet in the World Series, surely one of those droughts has to end.....

Because people like to root for the underdog!

BTW,i went to Cooperstown today, first time in over 30 years.

I saw 2 awesome life size sculptures!Awesome.

Ted Williams,and Babe Ruth.

The Hall of Fame is being remodeled, for a big deal in 2005.

The place looked different than when i was last there,some exhibits are at the moment closed;
I am glad i went,tho!

Its about an hour 1/2 drive from my home, parking can be tough, but,i parked 3 blocks away, for free on a side street.
