Yeah I heard this rumor last night, way too much for a good SS. They should just offer Manny and a prospect, not Manny and their best pitcher of last year!!!
 
Umm Clement sucks (ok not sucks but was mediocre). Manny wants out unfortunately and depending on how much trouble he causes he can be a real headache. I'd do this in a heartbeat if the sox aren't throwing in money.
 
This is a great trade. Why?

Boston is sick of Ramirez's antics, and he plays a weak left field. The only reason we'd want him is that he backs up Ortiz very well. You can't walk Pappi because Ramirez is right behind him. If you trade him for Tejada, who is another power batter and ontop of that one of the best SS, that's great. Clemente...meh. It has been his way to do absolutely well the first half of the season and then fall apart the second half. Boston can do without him (Beckett, Wakefield, Aronson, hopefully Shilling...and maybe Clemens??).

I say thumbs up.

I agree with getting rid of Clement...but tejada can't equal manny's production. You know what your'e going to get with Manny, he'll throw out a ton of runners (led the league last year) because everyone assumes he's lazy and tries to run on him. You're getting 140 rbi's a season, 40 hrs, 300 average, OPS near/above 1.000 (check out his stats he's top 12 all-time last I checked). Tejada doesn't get good till the weather warms up. NOT a good trade. So what if manny asks for trades a lot? he needs to be coddled, he was breast fed till he was 4 years old for cryin out loud.

 
manny is one ladyass mofo fielder. i can walk faster then he chases down a ball.

boston should keep him 😛
