Wow - was looking for tickets to Red Sox/Giants game here at Pac Bell, and they sold out a 3 game set in less than thirty minutes.

That's crazy, when I lived up North, I was always able to get Yankees/Sox tickets at Yankee stadium, as long as it was far enough in advance. Granted, they were nosebleeds or bleachers, but they hardly sold out in 30 min. And that's probably THE biggest rivalry in baseball.

Yeah but Yanks-Red sox play eachother like 20 times every year, San Fran - Boston is pretty rare.

Yanks/Sox tickets at the Stadium are sold out too...if not completely, very close. A buddy got some tix the day they went on sale for 2 yankee/sox games and both days we'll be sitting upstairs. Search ticketmaster, I'd be shocked if you could find any seats.

It pains me to say this, but I can't wait until my Yankees start to suck again. At least then the fairweather fans will go back to Shea and I'll be able to get decent seats without paying $125/ea to a scalper on River Ave.

Yep. Now that they've established a regularly rotating interleague schedule, IIRC the Sox would only visit SF for one series every 3 years.

I'm sure the Red Sox will be a hot ticket everywhere they go this year, especially interleague games, because of how 2003 played out and how the offseason has gone. Like mosco said, their fans are all over the place, and that's without a superstation ala the Cubs and Braves.

that's because all the CORORATE companies in SF buy a bunch of them. then the dealers buy a crap load and resell. Giants piss me off. They sell out practically every game but they still cut money from their rosters claiming they need to be profitable. bastards/

Did they sell out fast because the Sox are the hottest team this offseason, or is there a rivalry there that I'm not aware of?

The Giants and the Red Sox had the most powerful offenses last year. People probably want to see a lot of runs scored. :)

Also appears that this is the first time the Giants are playing the Sox in regular season play since 1912.

Not that it is TOO relevant, but there's never a problem getting tickets to see my beloved Giants here in Atlanta. :D

You can't buy Red Sox tickets unless you sleep in front of the ticket booth.

Well every other year I generally was able to get tickets for a bunch of games on the phone. This year, nothin. Of course I didn't try as hard this year, I used to go to games with the ex, this year I don't have that luxury. Blast, and I am feening to go to Fenway too.
