Do you think this is the last year we will see Pedro and NOMAH in Red Sox uniform? Pedro wants to test free agency and Nomah wants too much money for a injury-prone player.

We have a good chance of resigning Ortiz, Varitek and Lowe.

Well after another second place finish to the Yankees the Sox are going to have to retool if they ever want a chance to break the curse of the Bambino

I think Lowe will test free agency. Veritech will probably be resigned, getting a contract similar in stature to Posada's. Ortiz will be resigned as well. As for Pedro, he's as good as gone, unless they actually re-work Manny's contract like he has been rumored to have said he would do in order to keep Pedro on the team.

I'm wondering ...

Why did Pedro campaigne so hard for Ortiz, yet, he himself is going to test free agency?

Baseball players aren't the brightest bunch. Look at A-Rod signing for all that money in Texas and he went on to complain about it.

Its nice he's doing decent for the Yanks, but he'll always be remembered as a money grubber.

I'm very happy about the Ortiz signing. I think Varitek should be the next one signed to an extension.

Lowe and Nomah are gone, IMO. Pedro, I'm not too sure. I think he's just "testing" the market, and since there are going to be teams interested in him, its just going to up the price the Red Sox will be paying him next year.

Yeah, I agree, Lowe has said he'd like to play closer to his Michigan home, but why would he want to play for the Tigers? And is Detroit willing to shell out big bucks for someone so inconsistent. I really think Pedro will be re-signed, like you said, he wants to get maximum contract value, and the only way to do that is to see what others are willing to spend. Veritech is a must-sign. I can't see going into next year and beyond with Maribelli as our starting everyday catcher.

Pedro? Pedro?? That idiot will be in a Yankees uniform next year, as sure as Oprah has gravy stains on her undies. He'll still be an idiot, but an idiot in a Yankees uniform wearing a World Series ring.

There's no way in hell Pedro would ever play for the Yankees, no matter how much Steinbrenner offered him. The Yankees wouldn't sign Pedro anyway. They have more of a chance inking Randy Johnson than they ever will signing Pedro.

You're a Boston Red Sox fan I assume? Sad you can't spell your own catcher's name, but you can spell the Yankee's catcher's name.

Thank you professor. It's called multitasking, and not giving a fvck.
