Red Screen of Death

I've been getting rsod ever since I put together my haswell build very randomly while gaming. Is this usually a CPU issue? I find it strange because I never had an issue with my i5 2500k with the same overclocked video card.

Anyway to the OP, the screen should say what error code and possible what files the error relate too. So please list that. If its a blank red screen without any text its your graphics card.

Can we see your cpuz with cpu and memory tabs opened at load?

If it's very random and impossible to reproduce I would start by resetting your gpu and cpu to stock then overclock one aspect of each (core/uncore/ram for cpu and core/ram for gpu) and take it slowly.

Try to work your way up over a few days, without an error code it's going to be hard to narrow it down. The best method would be to start over and change only one thing at a time until you find the one adjustment that reproduces the issue.

It seems the RSOD has something to to with boot or shorty afterwards.
So you need to know if it is software or hardware.
What if any drivers or bios settings did you change recently.
Do you have a pagefile on c drive to catch the errors when possible.

I had the RSOD when I first installed a GTX 680 at launch. It could be application dependent and from what I hear, you can Ctrl-alt-del out of it. (In my case at least) give it a shot.

Its the card. I got RSOD with ati x800 and 6800 GT

Its your card. Doubt driver changing will help. gl

A follow up for the people who were still following this thread. After lowering my GPU OC a bit and setting a custom fan profile on the GPU I haven't had a RSOD. So it seems it was GPU related. I just don't understand why it started happening when I switched to my haswell setup. Oh well.

Edit: So after days of not having a RSOD just a few minutes after I posted the above I got another one...

Pull the card out and run integrated graphics. See if the RSOD comes back.

It is the Video card I used to get the Red Screen also does this happen with everygame of certain games only ?

Every game.

But I admittedly didn't fully stress test my previous CPU OC. I had only did 20 runs of ibt and thought that was good enough. But I ran prime95 and it wouldn't last two minutes. I lowered my OC and played around with my voltage and have Prime for 6 hours so far and haven't got any errors since.
