Red Planet Turning Green?

Link

This is the most stupid Idea I have ever heard, Let me explain :

1-Using these type of gases will warmup mars for sure , by creating a gap in Mars's atmosphere meaning that :
Mars ill be more susciptable to micro-waves and other solar radiatons considering it's proximity to the Sun.
Fix that after it happens. I mean if it's going to have the same effect on Mars as it had on earth than for sure the damage done to Mars will result in danger coming from solar radiations.

Am I right or am I right?

first, what do you mean "creating a gap in mars' atmosphere?"
and how would it be more susceptible to radiation from the sun? mars is further than the earth is.

😕
Since when was microwaves a solar radiation, or even harmful?

Well these gases don't act on the planet itself they act on the atmosphere of the planet, on earth it's made out of ozone molecules, chemically they have this structure O3, that gas protects us from alot of cosmic/solar radiations, even from Meteors. thee green house effect on earth can be seen by the increase in sea level on the boundaries of the north pole, indicating an increase in tempareture, once all the polar caps are melted it will cause the planet to be flooded with water, well atl least most of it.
But the even more scary part is that our planet would be coocked by microwaves that are naturally blocked by the ozone layer, once it's gone were gone. same applies to mars if there is any hope of making mars a livable planet, this will make these hopes BS.

well then u have mars not being a giant magnet, and deflecting the solar wind and radiation, to deal with too

Read Kim Stanley Robinson's Red, Green, Blue Mars trilogy, which deals explicitly with terraforming Mars.

what pisses me is that fcking grad school student, how arrogant of here to come up with some random unresearched idea just so that she can rush thngs and be the first btch to go to Mars!!!

they've had that idea for ages. i believe it would work too. all they need to do is heat up the planet a little bit and plant life would grow just fine. they also had the idea of creating real greenhouses on mars and planting lots of plantlife. this would in turn create oxygen on the planet. still it would take hundreds of years before it'd be livable.

Good trilogy too. 🙂

The basis for any terraforming of Mars is that the atmosphere needs to be made thicker, thus enabling it to hold heat and sustain live. In theory, the first stage of a terraforming Mars project would be to introduce VAST amounts of CO2 into its atmosphere. The increased warmth would allow some of the ice to melt, creating water. Stage 2 would be introducing some sort of plant life, likely an algae, to the planet.

Any terraforming project to Mars would take centuries to complete though. Even if it was started in my lifetime, I doubt I would live to see its completion.
