TEACHERS have been told to stop marking schoolchildren's work with red pen because it is an "aggressive" colour.

Queensland's Deputy Opposition Leader Mark McArdle told parliament today that teachers were being advised to reconsider their pen choice because it may offend children.

This PC bullshit has to end.

If you're upset by red pen you're gonna have serious problems later in life when you need to deal with real issues.

Seriously - it makes the comments stand out and easier to read. My chinese homeworks/tests are all covered in red pen just because my teacher likes to comment about everything. The first time I got it back I was like, "fuck," but then I got used to it. There are worse things than red pen.

So we replace red with green, and then green becomes the scary color. The next generation will never go outside... not because of Xbox and PC inside, but because of the terrifying green colors outside.

Bureaucrats fear for the mental health of schoolchildren exposed to the teacher's red pen
The best way for these bureaucrats to serve their people is to DIAF.

I agree it's nonsense, but how is it "PC"?

You can't even get an M rating for your video games.

Political correctness (adjectivally, politically correct; both forms commonly abbreviated to PC) is a term applied to language, ideas, policies, or behavior seen as seeking to minimize offense to gender, racial, cultural, disabled, aged or other identity groups.

more PC BS.

Carlton University's Student Union in Ottawa Canada decided that Cystic Fibrosis wasn't "inclusive" enough for them to collect donations for it. Apparently, diseases have to be PC to now to get funding.

Yeah, but that's more because no one got round to updating the laws, rather than a conscious effort by goverment to restrict R rated games.

And you'll find most of your R games a M here.

Idiocy. There will be a generation of people who grow up completely and totally unable to deal with life. And then the pharmaceutical industry will be happy to move in and prescribe lots of psychoactive medications to help them out...

I was the student aid for the bookkeeping professor this semester...I used to make papers BLEED red ink...:D

Red ink is a highly visible way to point out errors and make corrections/notes with.

Maybe the "bad" part is that it does stand out so that someone else might see the errors too...

"Jimmy, youre paper has bunches of red ink...your stuped!"

So the "identity group" is students? I asked because I think the term is overused. This is simply a case of "dumbing down," among other things.

Ah, I had forgotten about them! :D

Those poor sensitive students. How will they ever manage in the real world?

Our kids will be okay. People said the same the same thing about about the nuclear family in the 1950s with the overly nurturing mother, but the baby boomers turned out fine, didn't they?
