Red Hat Question

I started up my Redhat 6.2 box for the first time in a week or so and it wouldn't boot. I get this message:

"init: error in loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory."

Anyone have any ideas?

ok it had something to do with my ram. i removed one of the sticks and it booted fine. time to see if i can put that stick back in another slot and have it recognize it and boot. i still have no idea what the problem was...anyone know?

Linux is a bit pickier than Windows about marginal hardware. In particular if you using PC 100 but running it at 133 you may get this problem.

I'm not saying that's the problem, but it's certainly probable.

it could be that...its actually pc 66 except this one stick thats giving me problems.

Well if it's running at 66MHZ then it's RAM going bad, or it's not seated correctly or something. If it's running at higher than what it's rated, again my explanation is plausible.
