red hat linux 9 and belkin omniport kvm issue

whenever i swith my kvm to my linux computer from my windows xp system, my mouse goes retarded.....moving erratically and clicking everywhere.....i'm using a logitech mouseman yada yada yada, hooked to a usb-->ps2 adapter, then to the kvm......in my other windows 2k system that is hooked to the kvm, i don't get this issue....only on the red hat box......any ideas?.....thnx in advance.....all systems are hooked to kvm using ps2, not usb

You need to use the PS/2 protocol in /etc/X11/XF86Config instead of IMPS/2. Sadly, this means you can't use the scroll wheel. The problem is due to the way the mouse is emulated by the KVM when you switch. There are other KVM's out there that don't have this problem. Belkins, unfortunately, do.

OK. Use the Red Hat config tool that changes your mouse type. I don't remember offhand if there's a specific one for the mouse or if you use the display or X11 tool. Try things out until you find the tool that gives you the list of mice to choose from. You want to choose "Generic PS/2" and check the box for "Emulate 3 Buttons" if it's not checked already.
